7 killed, 30 hurt in Munshiganj road mishaps Oct 1: At least seven people were killed and 30 more injured in two separate road mishaps here on the Dhaka-Mawa highway last night. The first accident that killed six persons and injured 30 others took place at about 11:30pm in Samashpur area on the road. The police and eyewitnesses said a Barguna-bound passenger bus of Sakura Paribahan (Dhaka Metro BA 1-0-487) lost control as soon as it reached the place of occurrence leaving the six dead on the spot. The deceased were identified as Liton, 30, Ziaur Rahman, 25, Asaduzzaman, 35, Sohel, 30, Abul Hossain, 30, Mostafa Munshi, 45. The injured were admitted to the Sreenagar Health Complex where they are undergoing treatment. The second accident took place in Dogachi area on the highway at noon today when a tempo dashed an unidentified pedestrian to death. The tempo driver fled away. Later, the fire brigade unit of Munshiganj rescued the ill-fated bus. A case was also filed with the Sreenagar police in this connection. All the dead bodies were sent to Munshiganj hospital morgue for autopsy.
