Shah Mouzzam Hossain
Shah Mouzzam Hossain is a very well known name of Bangladesh. He was born in 10th January, 1939 in a reputed Muslim family in the Bikrampur. He passed S.S.C in 1954 from Dhaka Sent Gregory High School . He obtained H.S.C degree from Dhaka college , B.A. from Jagannath University College , M.A. & L.L.B from Dhaka University . He has one son and one daughter . His son name is Rana and daughter name is Dina . Both of them are married . Rana is an Engineer who served in USA in a famous power company . Famous poet Saleha Hossain his wife . Shah Mouzzam Hossain involved in many social welfare activities of the Country . He established so many schools and colleges . He traveled so many countries in the world . He is a lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court , skilled political organizer and unparallel debater . Shah Mouzzam Hossain started his politics activities during his student life . when he was the student of class 9th in 1952 he was sent to jail for the first time for taking part in the language movement . He was sent to jail for several time for his country that's why he was entitled by his friends and wellwishers "Jailbird". In 1954 he was elected General Secretary of Dhaka College Chatro Sangsad . In 1958 he was elected General Secretary of East Pakistan Chatro League and 1959 he became President of that Organization. He was reelected and glorified that post for three consecutive terms .He was the pioneer in the education and democratic movement held in 1962 . He was elected as a Member of Parliament in 1970 . He participated in the freedom fight in 1971 and served as a skilled organizer . His speech in the Indian Parliament helped a lot to accelerate the movement of our freedom fight and it will be written in golden letters in the history of Bangladesh .In the independent Bangladesh he was first Chief Whip in 1972 . In the next year he was elected as a Member of parliament as well as became the chief whip again .In 1975 he was elected a member of Cabinet. After
the changes of political plot of the country in 1976 he established
a new party named "Democratic League" and elected as
a General Secretary . Due to his outstanding organizing capacity
he established "Janadal" in 1983 . In 1984 he became
a member of Cabinet again .After establishing Jatiyo Party in 1986
he became the Vice president and Presidium Member of that party
.He was elected Member of Parliament again in 1986 and in the same
year he became Secretary General of "Jatiyo Party" .
He was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister in 1987 . In 1980 again
he was elected a Member of Parliament and in the same year he became
the Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Parliament Leader . In 1991
he was elected a Member of Parliament in the by election of Peergonj
contingency in Rangpur . As
